PencilTime 1.11.0 release notes
July 2026
Keep what matters on the page. PencilTime 1.11 makes Note pages more useful, keeps resources beside your plans, adds precise editable markup, and improves landscape work.
Find the right Note layout
Start with one of 26 bundled Note page templates across Paper, Study, Work, Productivity, Personal, Home & Money, and Creative categories. The full-screen browser provides large previews for layouts such as Cornell Notes, Meeting Notes, Daily Focus, Habit Tracker, Expense Log, and Sketch Notes.
Change the background of an existing Note without moving its handwriting, typed text, stickers, Links, files, Shapes, reminders, or tags.
Type without giving up the paper feel
Type on any bundled Note page template, then show or hide its background without deleting your text or changing the selected layout. Typed Notes areas on Basic Year, Month, and Week pages support Blank, Lined, Dot Grid, and Grid paper.
Keep Links and files close to the work
- Add website, email, phone, and message Links to planner and Note pages.
- Show a Link as a compact Chip or a Card with extra detail.
- Attach a copied file to the page and open it with the system Quick Look preview.
Mark up with precise Shapes
Add editable lines, single- and double-ended arrows, rectangles, rounded rectangles, and ellipses. Use familiar pen palettes, fine-grained stroke widths, optional fills, and independent opacity controls for diagrams and callouts.
Choose how a page fits in landscape
Use Fit Page to keep the entire portrait page visible orFit Width for a larger writing area. Pinch outward to zoom in, then tap the Page View button to return to the selected fit.
PencilTime 1.11 includes bundled templates for selection, but not template creation, editing, import, export, or user-defined categories. Fit Page and Fit Width work with existing portrait planner pages; landscape-oriented templates are not included.
